is singing now
thanksgiving 1985
on my record player
I keep playing one track
over & over—A
Star Is Born
I'm going to get
up from this
here
poem!
and
go put it on
now!
Here it is
it's pretty
love soft as an easy chair—
oh fuck her voice is
beautiful
like a rose...
under the april snow
she was certain love would grow
I never really liked her
until a week ago
and I'm 43
Streisand
I'm going to put the
needle back at the start
now
I used to do that with Charles Ives'
"Unanswered Questions"
played it over and over writing
many dozens of poems to it
I'm a
lucky man this
thanksgiving
Thank you lord for allowing me to keep on writing
thank you
Lord
